I took this last Thursday in Laredo Texas. Today I’m in Mobile Alabama enjoying some time off and visiting Battleship park on my Birthday.

Well, this morning I’m off to Cades Cove national park in hopes of getting some bear pics. Yesterday I was in Vonore Tennessee at Ft. Loudoun historical park for one of their garrison weekends, more on that later this week. Till then I got these pics yesterday on the first day of spring. First is a Magnolia bloom and then a wild Violet 🙂

We all have our favorite flowers, mine happen to be Turks Cap Lillies. I found these last summer north of Green Bay Wisconsin growing wild next to a nice stream.

Its been a rough weekend and a pretty boring one at that. I need some colour in my world and I cant wait for spring to get here, not to mention my home time at the end of the month. I ordered a new toy, a Sigma 18-250mm lens to finally replace my venerable Sigma 18-200mm which I have had for about 10 years. Since I rather like Thistle here are a couple of shots from last year.
