Shoo,Shoo,Shoo Baby

Who does not like the iconic B-17G Flying Fortress, and this one is a beauty! This bomber has a bit of a history. It served from March 24th 1944 to May 1944. After 24 combat missions she had mechanical problems and was forced to land in neutral Sweden. Somehow she ended up back in France and abandoned. In 1968 she was found in a field and in 1978 she was brought back to the U.S. to Dover Air Force Base where she underwent a 10 year restoration then flown under her own power to the museum in Dayton.
Currently the museum has another iconic B-17 in restoration mode…. The Memphis Belle! I hope to get to see her on my next trip, you need reservations for the tour.
