I stopped Saturday morning just south of Tyler Texas at a little mom and pop truck stop and had a great breakfast of chorizo and eggs with some homemade tortillas then I took a wonder walk in a big field next to the truckstop and had a great time getting even more wildflower pics, got to get them when I can, spring and summer won’t last much longer..:-)
I got these a few days ago in a field in Alabama, the hopper seemed to want me to take his pic while the spider just looked annoyed…
I have no idea what it is, I’m hoping there are a couple entamologists out there who can help identify this fella. He/She is about the size of my thumb and the head quivered like it was trying to attract other bugs….for dinner I suppose…
side note…It looked like it has wings too, if this is the case I would not like to find one flying around..:-)
The dreaded Box Eldar Beetle, these little buggers are more annoying than the love bugs we used to get in Texas. They seem to get in everywhere, in the house,cars and will cling to your clothes and hair if you give them a chance….
How do I celebrate my Birthday? By going on a bughunt!!! I’m home for a few days and get to visit with the folks and get some good food and get out to the wilderness for some pics. Spring is in full full swing and I’m anticipating finding some neat wildflowers and maybe a bird or two, and of course bugs. I took the following pics on Tuesday in South Carolina while parked on an offramp, sometimes a good walk will produce some good pics…….
It always amazes me that such neat wildflowers come in such small packages, all these flowers were smaller than a dime….

I was saving this little gem for this week, I took it when I was home in Tennessee a couple of weeks ago and was amazed to find ladybugs already in my folks lawn…time to get out the macro lens..:-)
Its kind of hard to think of flowers today, I’m in Chicago, in a winter storm, that I had to drive through all night to get to Chicago. But I made it safe and sound and I finally get to check in with my e-mails. Yesterday in Ohio I picked up season 2 of Game of Thrones and Argo so I have some catching up to do..:-)
