Posted in Daily musings, Photography with tags Wisconsin on December 17, 2009 by EdAnyone who knows me, knows I pretty much live in shorts. Well over the last two days in Wisconsin I decided that 4 degrees is time to wear some long pants, I’m crazy, not stupid. With the lows around -1 and highs only getting to the low teens is was really nice weather, I ran into some light snow but it was not bad at all. Well I’m on my was back south where today it is supposed to be in the upper 40’s, thats balmy…:-)
Well I got to get some sleep, have a great day…Ed

Posted in Daily musings, Skywatch Friday with tags Geminid meteor shower, Norway Spiral on December 11, 2009 by EdA couple of days ago a mystery spiral appeared over northern Norway, and the mystery is now solved, it was a failed launching of a new Russian missle launched from a submarine in the North Sea, it was still a pretty cool light show..:-)

FYI Sunday evening the Geminid meteor shower will peak at over 60 per hour, so if you are feeling a bit adventerous check them out..

Posted in Daily musings, Photography with tags Knoxville, snow on December 8, 2009 by EdI went to Knoxville Saturday with my dad Chuck to help out with the show and to get some pics and it snowed all morning. Although it was colder than a well diggers butt it was pretty fun. Now I know its not like the storm thats racking the west and midwest but for Knoxville it was pretty cool..:-)

This is the park across the street from where the vendors set up, it was a winter wonderland for a little while.

This is the tree where I got my macro shots from yesterday.

And last but not least, this is Chuck’s booth where he sells his fine woodturning, from Peppermills to Maple Burl bowls and pens, he is a true multitasker. If anyone wants a cool gift for this year he has an online store at www.tellicoturnings.com and will make custom items too. There is a link also on my blogroll.
Tomorrow will be an interesting shot, I finally got my nerve up and asked a young lady who was attending an Anime convention if I could take her pic..:-)
