Well I made it home this morning, just in time to get to help my dad do a show in downtown Knoxville. Chuck is a fantastic woodturner and does some shows throughout the year and sells his handcrafted bowls, peppermills and wine bottle stoppers and pens online too at his site ( see my blogroll for tellico turnings). Anyway when I got home at 5 a.m. this morning I was happy to run into snow! YIPPEE!!! So not only do I get to see my mommy, I got to see my first snow of the year..All is right in my world..:-)

I figure since there is a full moon tonight I’d share some of my favorite moon shots I’ve taken over the past couple of years..Enjoy..:-)

When I was a kid growing up in Urbana Illinois me and my friends would get together like alot of kids and play. Being the adventurous types we gravitated towards exploration and playing war, against the germans of course. One of our favorite playgrounds was the area of the trestle, you had the tresses and an abandoned (at the time) train stop, and a creek called the Boneyard, what more could kids ask for. We spent most of the time year round either chasing imaginary germans around the trestle before our objective to blow it up before the train of german reinforcements could cross it. Or we pretended we were explorers bound and determined to find the source of the Boneyard creek by moving up river through dangerous passages and not so swiftly running water. The creek went underground in a few places and this is were the trolls were..LOL! But now its overgrown and businesses have surrounded the old play place but when I visit my dad in Urbana I have him take me by there just so I can cross the old trestle one more time and remember being a kid once again.
Also yesterday was my 1 year anniversary for my blog, so, Happy B-Day to my blog..:-))


The next time I get through there I’ll get some new pics and maybe take a walk through Busey woods, another hotspot for our little excursions..:-))

Why black and white? When it flew in my window I judt grabbed my camera and forgot I had the camera set to B&W and could’nt change it with one hand. I kinda like them in B&W.

Here we go once again with a rousing Sunday Stills, I have to post on Saturday night due to the fact I have no idea where I’ll be tomorrow and did’nt want to chance no having an internet connection where I stop. These fellows were circling the T/A Truckstop in Grand Bay Alabama on Wednesday when I was broke down and waiting to get fixed. I’m on the move again and find myself in Ardmore Oklahoma this morning, then up to Oklahoma City later this morning and then over to Arkansas for tomorrow, Busy,Busy,Busy..

Did you know that Benjamin Franklin wanted the humble turkey to be the national bird and not the eagle???
Now once a year the president grants a pardon to one lucky bird and lets two border patrol guards rot in prison for doing their job, and I bet there are a few unlucky birds being stuffed in the whitehouse kitchens this day, not so lucky birds. And how did we come to have turkey as the standard meat at thanksgiving? I’m sure when the native americans came to that first feast they brought venison tartar and the rightious pilgrims ate it up and a few years later stole their land and moved them farther west for their troubles…ACK!!! Anyway, enjoy this day with your families, I’m enjoying a nice chicken fried steak and eggs this morning. Happy Thanksgiving to all my blogger buddies across the world…:-)

The first is a youngster who is just starting to get his colours, and the second it the brighter pink adult.
