Nothing ruins a quiet nights drive than a tire blowout, especially when its a forward drive tire that takes out part of the wind fairing along the side of the truck! I’ve had this truck for 4 years and never put a scratch on it till last night, well, I did’nt put the scratch on it, my company uses re-cap drive tires and the cap blew and did all the damage. I’m really bummed out about the damage but hey I’m safe and no one got hurt….Cie la Vie..

The Prickly Pear cactus were in bloom and so was a neat red flowreing bush that I have no idea what its called and no one at our OC knows what it is either. I was also getting dive bombed by busy bees trying to get the necter/pollen from the cactus flowers, it was more of a get out of our way so we can work type of buzzing..:-)

He/She is about the size of my thumb and the head quivered like it was trying to attract other bugs….for dinner I suppose…
side note…It looked like it has wings too, if this is the case I would not like to find one flying around..:-)

But I did have my Canon G12 poiont and shoot and from across the parking lot and up on the second floor I did manage some good shots. I’m still amazed by the G12 itsa a great travel/pocket camera..:-)
Sunday Stills: Flowers and Wildflowers
Posted in Canon G12, flowers, Insects, Macro Photography, Photography, Sunday Challenge, Sunday Stills with tags Photography, Sunday Stills, Macro Photography, flowers, bees, Canon G12, verbina, columbine, hybrid fuscia, muscatine on April 28, 2013 by EdI cheated this week! I grabbed my Canon Powershot G12 and did an impromptu photo shoot at a big box store that will be unnamed. I figured since I don’t have a garden and I did’nt want to use the loads of new wildflower shots from last weekend..what the heck..:-)
If I had to pick my favorite it would be the Hybrid Fuscia (second from the bottom) do you have a favorite? And did you spot the big ol’ Bumblebee???
Have a great week…Ed
Sunday Stills: Something Hot!
Posted in Canon G12, Food, Photography, Sunday Challenge, Sunday Stills with tags Canon G12, Food, Photography, Sunday Stills on April 21, 2013 by EdI got luck and pestered my mum on Saturday morning for these shots while she was making Chorizo and Egg burritos…nice and HOT!
She is the best cook I know and I have been gorging myself the last few days on her fantastic homecooked food..:-)
First we have the heating element on the stove..
Then we have the spicy hot Chorizo ( Mexican Sausage)
And after you mix in eggs, peppers and tomatos you need the Salsa Verde, whick I let boil so that is deffinatly HOT!
And what breakfast is complete without homefries..
And finally the finished product.. FANTASTIC!!
Not to mention my B-Day dinner on Thursday night, chicken enchiladas, refried beans and mexi rice with the best queso dip..YUMMMM!
Thanks mom (DiBear)..:-))))
