Macro Monday and the End of Sunday Stills

Yesterday I made the toughest descision I have made in a long time and it made me sick, I ended Sunday Stills after 3 plus years. In its heyday we had over 50 contributers and it was like a small community but lately it diminished to 10 die hard participients who did the challenge each week, I myself did every challenge with the exception of one challenge for the entire run of SS. Ending Sunday Stills is like ending a part of my life but at least I’ll still be posting on this blog and meeting new folks and continuing my friendships with my fellow bloggers and photographers.
Well, cie la vie… Here are a couple pics from the archives for todays Macro Monday, I really have not taken any new macros in the past week its been a pretty busy one..

  1. It’s been a great run Ed, and I for one have really appreciated the time and effort you put into it. I learned a lot by participating, and I think I did most of them. I think Sunday Stills, more than any other aspect of blogging, has done the most to inspire me to be a better photographer, and I want to thank you for that. I have enjoyed the photos from around the world too.

  2. Ed Amazing monochrome macro, very composition!!! Cheers Nonoy Manga

  3. Shucks, I just found you and now I learn that Sunday Stills is no more. I was looking forward to posting on future challenges.

Loved the macros by the way.

  4. It’s been a fun 3+ years of Sunday Stills, but I too was saddened by the increasing lack of interest and the loss of so many of our regulars. I’ll keep up my blog and maybe I’ll begin to write more instead of just photography.

You did a super job Ed, as did Linda. The two of you brought us a truly fun and inspiring blog with your weekly challenges. Miss you!!

  5. I’m sorry to see it go, Ed. You did a great job of keeping it interesting and fun and I looked forward to it every week. Thanks for all you have done with it.

  6. Amazed looking at these macro shots. That b/w treatment is way too good!!

  7. I’m sort of sad to see it go as well but I know how hard it was getting and it’s discouraging when the attendance drops like it has. Thanks again and I’m glad you’ll still be blogging here at least. I’d like to hear more of your travels. The lot lizard stories always made me laugh ;)

I’m glad you’ll still be blogging here, but I too am sad to see Sunday Stills go. Blogging in general seems to be in a bit of a decline.
It surprises me that no one has offered to stepped up to take it over for you.
