Stepping Back in Time
Long before I got my DSLR I carried a 35mm Vititar camera and I really had no aspirations to be a photographer, I just like to take pics. When I got out of the army in 1993 I drove home to Texas and stopped by the Pertoglyph/Painted Desert National park in Holbrook Arizona for a quick sightseeing stop. Archeology has always been an interest of mine as well as geology so this was a great stop with all the pertoglyphs, Puerco Indian ruins and petrefied wood. I have wanted to stop back there since then but unfortunatly you can’t take commercial vehicles into the park. So here are a few shots I took almost 20 years ago….

Very interesting post this morning. I don’t think I want to go back to shooting with film and waiting for photos to be processed.

Film has an undeniable quality about it that digital struggles to capture.

Looking at ancient images no matter what the process was does not grow old and reinforces to me my position in life.
Ed do you ever use I70 west of Grand Junction?
