Tech Time: LightCraft Fader ND Filter MkII
Its been a few weeks since I got my new Light Craft filter and I need more things to shoot with it. I’m talking about the LightCraft Fader ND variable Neutral Density Filter. This little puppy takes the place of 4 individual filters and is really easy to use. All you do is put it on your lens and rotate the lens to the desires stop form 2-8 stops, what this does is it slows the shutter speed to give some great water shots or whatever you can come up with. It takes a few shots to get used to but I was good to go after only a few shots. My personal reason for getting this filter was for water, I prefer the flowing look compared to freezing the water in place and with this filter I can go from one extreme to the other and I can use my camera in Aperature Mode which is my personal setting for my camera. I used to use shutter mode to flow the water but its tricky and the shutter speed varies for different lighting conditions. Anyway its a great addition to my camera bag and will get used alot. I got this filter from B&H Photo Online and it comes in a variety of lens sizes, I got the 72mm for my Sigma 18-200mm lens. I have a few pics and they have the website for the company and one pic has the smartphone code to pull up a video from the company, if anyone tried this let me know if it works. I also have another water shot with some tech details of the shot..Have a great day…:-))

Aperature Mode, ISO400, F4:3, Cloudy white Balance, And ND Fader set to 2 stops.

I’ve always wanted to try one of these….it’s on my wish list. I love the soft flow of water better too.
