For todays bird entry we have two neat woodpeckers, first will be Red Bellied Woodpeckers followed by some Downey woodpeckers, the female does not have the red stripe on her head..:-)

Nice shots. I saw a woodpecker here last summer, not sure but I think it was a Northern Flicker.

I had a red-bellied woodpecker on mine yesterday! Yours are much better shots of the bird itself, though.

Good shots Ed. Ted saw a red-headed woodpecker come to my feeders, scared all the finches away . Too bad I didn’t see it and get a shot; I’ll have to keep my eyes open for another chance.

Great captures all. That first one is wonderful composition, too. I like woodpeckers…except when they are banging away at our metal exhaust pipe on the roof at 5am….there are no insects on it..I think they just want to wake me up.
