Macro Monday
Posted in Insects, Macro, Macro Monday, Photography, flowers, moon with tags Macro Monday, Macro Photography, Monarch butterfly, moon, mushrooms on September 27, 2009 by EdToo much fun this week, The moon shot I consider a macro because when I use my macro lens I’m inches from the subject, in comparrison then I’m using my super tele lens I’m up close to the moons surface to the point you can see the craters..:-) I chased the Monarch butterfly for 30 minutes on Sunday in Oklahoma and could only get him from behind.
Once again thanks for all the comments and I’ll get to everyones sites later today.

One of the advantages of moon pics in Kansas is the lack of light and natural polution in the air and makes for crisper pics.

A decomposing mushroom.

And finally my wayward Monarch I chased through a large stand of wild sunflowers in Paul’s Valley Oklahoma on Sunday.
Sunday Stills: Signs Of Fall
Posted in Birds, Sunday Stills with tags Geese, leaves, Sunday Stills on September 27, 2009 by Ed
Well this is better than nothing, I’ve been from Virginia to Iowa in the last week and am on my way to South Texas today and photo pickins have been pretty slim for this weeks challenge, I got a tree with some leaves turning yellow, a couple of fallen red leaves from my home time and some geese heading south. Enjoy…Ed

Happy Friday!
Posted in Daily musings, Photography with tags Friday, North River on September 25, 2009 by EdFirst off I’d like to say thanks for all the comments, I usually reply to all of them but I have a glitch in my blog that when I used to get individual replys in my e-mail, now I get replies that go straight back to my comments. Anyway please don’t think I’m ignoring anyone by not replying.
Well here is another of my favorite shots from my home time. There is a spot on the North River where the water runs fast and its so quiet that all you can hear is the wind in the trees and the rushing of the water, this spot is not far from where I took the shroom pics and one day I plan to hike this road from top to bottom, no truck, just me and my cameras and my thoughts, should be fun…:-)

Fantasia
Posted in Daily musings, Macro with tags Fantasia, mushrooms, Spider Man on September 22, 2009 by EdDid you ever see the Disney film Fantasia, the one with cartoons set to Classical music? It is still one of my all time faves, well as I was sitting in the rain taking these pics dancing asian mushrooms were going through my head. I wish I had the music to go with this post, that would have been cool.
Have a great day..Ed

And for good measure….

Macro Monday: Guess who’s Back!
Posted in Insects, Macro Monday with tags Butterflies, Macro Monday, Millipedes, mushrooms, Spider Man on September 20, 2009 by EdI admit I have 15 pics ready for macro monday but I’m only using 4 for today. I’ll do a shroom/lichen/fungus post a bit later…:-))

I got all these on Friday and Sunday in the rain while on the Tellico River even though it was raining it was still a really fun couple of days.
Sunday Stills: The Color Purple
Posted in Insects, Macro, Photography, Sunday Stills, flowers with tags Hot Wheeles, Macro, Sunday Stills, Swallowtail butterflies on September 20, 2009 by EdThis was fun! I got all these pics this week, the first two are from Bowling Green Kentucky and the rest I got on Friday when I went for my drive on the Tellico River while home here in Eastern Tennessee. I was really suprised to still find Swallowtails still around.

A quick trip on the river
Posted in Daily musings, Photography with tags Tellico River on September 19, 2009 by EdYesterday I took a short drive on the Tellico River to do some scouting for possible Kayakers and even with all the rain the river is still pretty low for kayakers, but on the positive side it was very pleasant and I got some pretty decent shots including some good ones for Sunday Stills. I was happy to see there is still alot of color and there were still butterflies with lots of wildflowers around. It rained like a son of a gun yesterday afternoon and flooded the street in front of my folks place, I just hope some of the heavy rains make it to the river. Well time to get my lazy day started, here are a couple pics from yesterday. Hava great day…Ed

See ya’ll tomorrow for Sunday Stills…:-))
