Grin and Bear it……
Yesterday was a fantastic day at Cades Cove National Park outside Townsend Tennessee. I rarely see Black Bears in the park but yesterday was a bearapalooza, I saw and photographed 6 of them. The one with the 2 tags in her ears is a problem bear, she like to raid the campgrounds and just be a pain in the butt. The park service has tried on two occasions to relocate he but she keeps coming back to the Cove.
I’ll upload more pics from the Cove on my Flicker Page, just click on the bar on the right to see more pics from yesterday, today I’m off to the river for a day of Kayaker and waterfall photography.
Have a great day…Ed

Great post, Ed. Love Cade’s Cove. I’ll bet you get some beautiful deer shots as well. Great pics.

Umm….aren’t bears dangerous?? Granted that I live on a rock in the middle of the ocean and have zero experience with bears, but can’t they hurt you?? I’m hoping you had a big lens and weren’t as close as it seems!!

Walking away from you is the best shot. Scary but beautiful.

lol! Bear butts! These are all great pics, Ed. You’ve got some great zoom lenses. Even with my point and shoot and super 20x zoom, I’d still be too close to be safe.
Have a great time kayaking!

Excellent shots! We’ve got bear around here but they tend to stay a bit to the west.

I am so jealous!! Many trips to Cades Cove and no bears. I wish we had been with you.

Cooool shots. Bears in Cades Cove – what fun to shoot. We’ve seen very few bears there but lots of deer. Looks like you had a wonderful trip through the Smokies.
