Sunday Stills: Barns
This was a fun one if I don’t mind saying so, here we have a Canteliever barn, a 1940’s era barn and one of only 60 round barns left in the country and 4 of them are in Champaign Illinois, the other two are of some inside the barn pics.

Great shots Ed! I’ve visited a round barn in Southeastern Oregon. So interesting — Especially the history behind it. It was used for training horses in the protection from the cold blustery winters.

Great shots! I love the first photo and the one with the round barn!!! The one with the horse shoe was very neat!

You beautifully captured some treasures. I hope they will be well tended and last for centuries! Lovely photos.

They are great! Love the round barn. My husband wanted to take me to photograph one near here (on Round Barn Road of all things), but I told him the hop house was unusual enough. I will have to get up there though before it falls down.

These are beautiful. I don’t believe I have ever seen a round barn.
This is my first week and so I used pictures I took last fall while visiting Macon, MO. I live in Georgia and have never looked for Barns here. I’m sure we have plenty but I live in the city. http://gigigriffis.blogspot.com/2009/04/sunday-stills.html

Ed, fantastic pics as always. I love that first barn and the one with the round roof. Very cool. We just don’t have things like that here in Hawaii

Great shots, you do get around don’t you? We have an old hexagon shaped barn in these parts that I should get some pictures of. I love the ox yokes hanging from the beams.

Great pictures! Round barns intrigue me and I’ve never seen one raised like that. There is a round barn on Puget Island, but I don’t think it’s that old. Last time we were over there, there was a camel in the corrals!

Great Photos Ed, Love that up in the air barn.. and the round one..we have one about 50 miles away that is round..I should get a photo someday.
That old barn looks very lonely..I love the rust on the roof! That first one has me baffled..how in the heck was it functional ..must of been for goats or sheep..no milk cows I ever knew would be caught up there.:)

I have heard of round barns, but not a cantilevered one. Very strange looking!
April 26, 2009 at 7:32 pm
Wow! The cantilevered barn is the coolest barn ever!
And I like the round barns, too.
You sure do get and about a lot, Ed. Great captures!
